The Whole Club (7 of 20 total)

The Whole Club (7 of 20 total)

A new school year is upon us! That means a new group of people in the Fly Fishing Club. This year we have around 20 individuals that are a part of the club. Due to gear and travelling arrangements usually only 7-9 students attend per trip. Saturday, 7 students attended the trip to the Little Lehigh. They were Johnny, John, Hannah, Hannah, Eileen, Brent, and Gaeron (and of course Mr. Schaffer came!). For many it was their first time out fishing, others had some experience. Johnny (not new) caught 2, John (new) caught 3,Hannah (new) caught 0, Hannah (new) caught 0, Eileen (new) caught 0, Brent (new) caught 0, Gaeron (not new) caught 5, and Mr. Schaffer (not new) caught 2. Some of the new students that caught 0, had fish on but lost them due to various reasons. All in all it was a beautiful day, with a lot of learning and smiles!

March 2nd, 2013 Fly Fishing Trip

Today we went down to the Little Lehigh again. Gaeron and Brandon both caught two fish. Johnny and Mr. Schaffer (the only others that went) did not catch anything, unfortunately. Dave, his friend and Shane came down to help us, which we are extremely grateful for. Although not everyone caught fish we all had a good time and learned a lot!

January 12th, 2013 – Fly Fishing Trip

The best club at Delaware Valley High School!

The Club

Jan. 12th, 2013 – The club headed out to the Heritage section of the Little Lehigh in Pennsylvania. After meeting at the school at 7:30, we took off and arrived around 9:15 with 5 students and our adviser. We met up with a great group of guys from PAFlyFish.com who helped teach us casting, took each kid out individually, took pictures and video, and even cooked us lunch! It was such a fun day and as soon as we got in the van on the way home, we were already planning another trip. There weren’t very many fish caught, but everyone had a ton of fun and learned a lot. The goal was to leave a better angler and in my opinion that happened. Thanks to all who made this trip possible, and I’ll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.
